About pTE
The Pearson Test of English (PTE) is a computer-based English language exam designed to assess the proficiency of non-native English speakers. Here are the key points:

PTE Format & Types
Types: PTE is available in five forms:
Academic: For academic purposes (e.g., university admissions).
PTE Core: Similar to Academic, designed for Canada immigration or study.
Academic UKVI: the same test as PTE Academic, but includes a Unique Reference Number (URN) for your UK visa application
PTE Home A1 & A2: For UK Visa Spouse /Parent of a Dependent/ Representative of an Overseas Business/ Sportsperson
PTE Home B1: For UK visa Settlement / Citizenship

Test Modules
You take the test in a friendly test center environment, and it lasts approximately two hours. The format is structured into three main sections:

Part 1 - Speaking & Writing
This segment of the assessment lasts for 54–67 minutes and encompasses seven distinct question formats. As the lengthiest part of the assessment, it focuses on evaluating your proficiency in both speaking and writing, using language commonly encountered in academic environment.

Part 2 - Reading
This part of the test is 29–30 minutes long and contains five different question types. PTE Academic is an integrated skill test, one item type (‘Reading and Writing: Fill in the blanks’) assesses writing skills as well.

Part 3 - Listening
This part of the test is 30–43 minutes long and it contains eight different Tasks. The questions are based on audio or video clips, which start automatically. You hear each audio or video clip once, and you are allowed to take notes.
