Clear answers about Adventures, learning modes, Challenges, progress and Selfocard.
Getting started
How do I start learning on Selfo?
After signing in, open an Adventure in which you are enrolled. From there, open the current Quest. Use Teaching for the lesson, Preparation for practice, or choose a Challenge when you are ready for evaluation.
What is the difference between an Adventure, Quest, and Challenge?
An Adventure is the main learning path and contains related Quests. A Quest is one focused topic within an Adventure and contains its learning workspace and Challenges. A Challenge is a separate evaluation activity; its result contributes to measurable progress.
Learning flow
What are Teaching and Preparation modes?
Teaching presents the lesson content. Preparation lets you practise with Selfo before evaluation. Neither mode gives an official Challenge score.
When should I take a Challenge?
Take a Challenge when you feel ready. You do not have to complete every teaching or preparation message first, but a Quest is completed only after three of its four Challenges are passed.
Progress
How is my progress measured?
Listening and Reading are objective: each answer is checked against the Challenge answer key. Writing and Speaking are subjective: the response is assessed using four approved criteria. Only recorded Challenge evaluation results update measurable skill Progress; ordinary Teaching or Preparation messages do not create a score.
Selfocard
What is Lingo and how can I use it?
Lingo is Selfo’s internal learning credit. It can be used for Adventure enrollment and may be awarded for approved milestones. Every credit or debit is recorded in your Selfocard ledger.
Account
Why can I not log in immediately after registering?
New registrations are reviewed by an administrator. Your account becomes available after approval. You can then sign in and continue to your dashboard.
Support
How can I ask my teacher for help?
Open Help in an eligible learning workspace and choose Teacher. Your request is saved with its learning context for teacher review.
